Q. Can the product be used to dispense organic solvents?
A. Usually O-rings (included at delivery) can be used to dispense organic solvents but some could, depending on the characteristics of the material, result in swellings.　When dispensing organic solvents in complicated cases we therefore recommend the usage of the Nichipet EX plus.
The product is made of material highly chemically resistant. However, there are some models such as the N- methyl pyrrolidone where certain chemicals are not suitable for use. For further details on those products, please contact us. When it comes to volatile chemicals, because of the interposing air in the product due to the construction, some vaporization might occur and cause leaking of the solvents.

Q. What material is the plunger made of?
A.

NPX-2, 10, 20, 100 ・・・・・・ Stainless steel plunger
NPX-200, 1000, 5000, 10ml ・・・・・・ Ceramic plunger
Because of the usage of the materials above, the product is very chemically resistant.

Q. Are there any guidelines for the usage of organic solvents regarding containers without ceramic plungers?
A. We are using stainless steel (SUS316) so there is no risk of corrosion.

Q. Can tips from other producers be used?
A. Basically, the best and most precise results are obtained when using our tips that are specially made for our products. However, tips from other producers can also be used. Please see list below.

Q. Will the laboratory gloves be tangled in the product?
A. Thanks to the function of setting the variables with the push-button, there is no risk of the cloves being tangled.

A. Yes.

A. Thanks to the locking device, there is no risk of the measurements changing.

Q. Could the solvent accidentally be sucked into the main body?
A. For products designed for handling amounts that could possibly be sucked into the body, a filter is installed to prevent it.
* For amounts under 200μl there is almost no risk

Q. I am unable to eject the tip. Is it broken?
A. There is a possibility that the nozzle cylinder is sagging. Please read the instructions well and reattach the tip.

Q. It doesn’t pick up liquid, (or the measurements are completely wrong) is it broken?
A. Like in the question above, there is a possibility that the nozzle cylinder is sagging.
Please read the instructions well and reattach the tip. In the case of the “O-ring seal ring” in the airtight part being worn out, same results might occur. In this case, please get a new “O-ring seal ring set”. If you are picking up more than 1000μl, the filter on the edge of the nozzle might be wet from picking up the liquid. Please check if this is the case. In case the filter is wet, it needs to be replaced. * In other cases, the product needs to be properly repaired.
